A couple weeks ago, we took another visit to the Virginia Living Museum. We all really enjoy going there several times a year. It has all different animals that are native to Virginia. They also have one area of the museum that they change out regularly. Right now they have a dinosaur exhibit that we were all really looking forward to. I’m not sure exactly what I expected, but it far exceeded those expectations. The exhibits all looked very life-like and were robotic. The kids all got a big kick out of it! Posing with the Saber tooth Tigers
I don’t remember what these guys were called, but the kids loved them! There was a nest right in front of the two adults with several babies and some actually hatching out of eggs. To no one’s surprise, this was Mikaela’s favorite.
The T-Rex chasing his dinner (can’t remember what the other one was called either)
Trinity wanted Matt to pick her up so she could see the T-Rex better. She was very excited about it, until the T-Rex turned his head and roared right in front of her. “Get me out of here, Daddy!”
I really wouldn’t want this guy right in my face, either.

And then, of course, we had to switch it up
After the dinosaur exhibit, we walked around the rest of the museum. We’ve been there so much, the kids know exactly what animal is supposed to be where. Yet they still love it as much as the first time we went.
A great example: It doesn’t matter how many times they’ve crawled in it, this turtle shell is always a huge hit.
While walking outside on the boardwalk, Trinity decided it would be a great time to lay down and rest a bit. Of course, the other two kids thought this was hilarious, which made her ham it up even more. Matt had to pick her up so we could keep moving and she screamed and laughed with delight that she was getting such attention. However the fun and laughter ended when they started playing the “Daddy swing me by my arms” game and Trinity’s elbow was dislocated…again. I knew immediately what had happened. Like I said, this wasn’t the first time. So we loaded up the car and took a little field trip to the emergency room. A few minutes later, her elbow was back where it was supposed to be and we had our giggling, happy Trinity back. Let’s hope Mommy and Daddy learned their lesson the second time around.
