During our third week in Missouri, my mom decided it’d be fun for all of us to go to the zoo together. And it was fun! Hot, hot, hot fun. Most of this blog entry will be pictures because everyone’s been to the zoo before. You know the drill. Walk, look at animal, walk, look at animal. Unfortunately at the KC Zoo, over half of our experience was walking and more walking. And did I mention it was hot? But despite that, we did have a great time together. Unfortunately, one of my sisters and one of my nephews couldn’t come because they were working. And my dad and brother-in-laws passed on this wonderful opportunity using the excuse of work as well. Like my dad says, “Some of us are ants and some of us are grasshoppers.” (If you don’t get that saying, let me know. This grasshopper can take time away from playing to to explain.)Our caravan had 1 single and 3 double strollers going. I normally don’t let my bigger kids ride in a stroller anymore, but I was glad I caved that day. With it being so hot and so much walking, I know we never would have made it through without a meltdown or two.
11 of the 13 grandkids. Skyler couldn’t make it because of work and Bailey Sue…well, she was there. I don’t know how she escaped the grandkid pic. She was probably too busy flirting with her boyfriend who made the trip as well. :O)

There’s Bailey Sue! With Chad, the boyfriend, and my Trinity (I know if she sees this, she will be mad because she said this was an awful picture of her. But I think she looks cute as ever and it’s my blog. So there!)
Poor Trinity smacked her head against a rock. She had a huge goose-egg right away. Luckily Aunt Connie came to the rescue and produced an ice pack for her. It was so stinking hot, I considered smacking my head on a rock just to get a turn with the ice pack.
Our day ended with a camel ride. If it had been up to me, we would have passed on this part of the zoo. But as you can see, I got out-voted. The kids absolutely loved it though! So despite spending what I thought was too much money for 4 trips around the little circle on a camel, I suppose it was worth it. All in a days work of being a momma.
